In a stark revelation that underscores the persistent threat of cross-border terrorism, a senior Pakistani security official has declared that Afghanistan remains inextricably linked to regional terrorism. Citing intelligence data, the official stated that the Afghan Taliban regime has actively supported or facilitated 2,170 terrorist incidents over the past year. These attacks have destabilized not only Pakistan but also neighboring regions, fueling militancy and civilian suffering. To counter this wave, Pakistan's security forces conducted a staggering 32,092 counter-terror operations during the same period. The operations resulted in the elimination of 1,861 militants, but at a heavy cost: 640 Pakistani security personnel were martyred, highlighting the brutal efficiency of the terrorists and the sacrifices of the forces.
