KABUL - Multiple explosions have been reported across several provinces in Afghanistan, including Marawara in Kunar, Chamkani in Paktia, and at least three distinct locations within Paktika province. Simultaneously, reports indicate a blast near the Taliban headquarters in Kisham, Badakshan province.
Although Islamabad has clarified it has "nothing to do with" the explosion in Badakshan, the timing and geographic spread suggest a significant operational escalation against the Taliban's grip on power.
Pakistan launched a ground assault and coordinated air strikes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, with additional targeted hits inside Afghanistan's Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar provinces.

Alongside the explosions, reports indicate that Qari Jami, a prominent local commander, has allegedly defected to the Juma Fateh faction along with several of his men. These defections reflect growing internal fragmentation within the Taliban's command structure, potentially signaling the collapse of unity that has held the regime together since 2021.
As the resistance intensifies, the Taliban is expected to respond with a fabricated civilian casualty count, blaming external forces-particularly Pakistan-for the violence. International media outlets that previously designated the Taliban as a terrorist organization will likely amplify these claims without scrutiny, citing "humanitarian concerns" as justification for validating Taliban propaganda.
Islamabad has consistently called on the international community to hold the Afghan Taliban accountable for harboring terrorist groups that attack Pakistan from Afghan soil. Pakistan will not be deterred by false propaganda. The country remains committed to regional peace and stability, but will continue to defend its sovereignty against all threats, including those emanating from Afghan territory.
