Nearly 220,000 people have been forced to evacuate as a massive blaze in Gironde has advanced to within 15 kilometres of Bordeaux, as wildfires continue to spread across southwestern and southeastern France on July 26. The fire has burned more than 42,000 hectares as thousands of firefighters and military personnel battle the flames.
