Islamabad/Balochistan: Security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Kohlu district of Balochistan, resulting in the killing of 5 BLA militants.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Armed Forces engaged the militants belonging to the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in a fierce encounter. In the initial phase of the ambush, 2 Pakistani soldiers were martyred. The security forces then retaliated and neutralized all 5 terrorists.
The operation was carried out in response to intelligence reports about BLA militants planning attacks on security forces and civilian infrastructure in the area. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the site.
Pakistan has repeatedly accused the Baloch Liberation Army of being involved in terrorism and sabotage activities in Balochistan, and has claimed that the group receives external support, including allegations of backing from Indian intelligence agencies (RAW). India has consistently denied these allegations.
Balochistan has seen increased militant activity in recent months, with the BLA claiming several attacks on security personnel and infrastructure projects. The Pakistani military continues to conduct counter-terrorism operations across the province to restore peace and stability.
