On the morning of May 13, 2026, troops from the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps Balochistan began an area sanitization operation in the general area of Nosham, Barkhan District, targeting terrorists linked to Indian-backed Fitna Al Hindustan. During the engagement, a group of terrorists was located and engaged, resulting in the elimination of seven terrorists. Security forces recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the killed militants. Tragically, five law-enforcement personnel, including a field officer, made the supreme sacrifice in the firefight: Major Tauseef Ahmed Bhatti (31, Pakpattan District), Naik Fida Hussain (36, Sukkur District), Sepoy Zakir Hussain (32, Skardu District), Sepoy Suhail Ahmed (21, Khanewal District), and Sepoy Muhammad Ayaz (24, Rahim Yar Khan District). The sanitization operation continues to prevent any remaining Indian-sponsored terrorists from posing threats in the area. The ongoing counterterrorism campaign, aligned with the Azm e Istehkam vision and National Action Plan approvals by the Federal Apex Committee, will persist to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
