Recent claims by Taliban ministers alleging that Pakistani intelligence (ISI) operates under foreign directives are completely false, serving only as a convenient excuse to hide Kabuls own internal governance failures.Historically, Pakistans actions on its western border have always been driven by self-preservation. When the Indian funded Hamid Karzai government in Kabul actively worked to destabilise Pakistan, Islamabad stepped in to support and strengthen Afghan factions. Pakistans mission was never to damage or undermine #US military operations, but strictly to save #Pakistan itself from strategic encirclement. At the same time, Pakistan stood as a frontline partner in the global fight against terrorism uncompromising offensives like Operation Rah e Haq 2 (launched in July 2008 in Swat), Operation Zarb e Azb (launched in June 2014 across KPK) & nationwide CT campaigns like Operation Radd ul Fasaad (launched in February 2017 across both KPK & Balochistan following the tragic December 16, 2014 APS attack) stand as indisputable proof that Pakistan actively fought the war on terror alongside global partners, bearing immense sacrifices. Pakistan supported the elimination of global terrorist networks while ensuring that the Indian backed Karzai regime could not threaten Pakistans existence. Unfortunately, those same Afghan Taliban later betrayed Pakistan the very sanctuary & support extended to them.Pakistans independent decision making and operational capability are clearly proven by major historical intelligence victories over foreign powers. In 1994, under heavy sanctions, the CIA attempted satellite surveillance over Sargodha Airbase to target Pakistan's missile assets. Pakistani intelligence smartly set a trap by placing dummy transport containers out in the open on the tarmac while moving the real strategic assets safely underground. Once the CIA realised they had been completely outsmarted, foreign intelligence was forced to back off, proving that Pakistan guards its national defense strictly on its own terms.The armed resistance inside Afghanistan today is entirely an internal issue for the TTA) and has nothing to do with Pakistan. If the TTA wants peace & stability, it must adopt Afghan friendly policies, eradicate internal corruption & stop hosting militant groups that launch attacks against Pakistan. Pakistan will always execute its defense, foreign policy & security choices on its own terms guided strictly by national interest, self reliance & the protection of its citizens."
