In my opinion, this meeting is a clear message that the state is willing to deploy its full spectrum of power to regain control. However, such apex committees have met many times before, and the outcomes often remain trapped in bureaucratic inertia. The real test will be whether this gathering translates into tangible, on-ground action—such as faster decision-making in counter-terror operations, enhanced civilian intelligence coordination, and addressing the root causes of Balochistan’s grievances. Without simultaneous economic investment and political outreach, even the most robust military strategy will be incomplete. The inclusion of the DG ISI and the Chief of Defence Forces indicates a unified command, but sustainable peace requires more than force: it demands governance, justice, and hope for the local population.
