Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani personally received Prime Minister Sharif at Doha's Hamad International Airport with full state honors, including a guard of honor and traditional Qatari hospitality. During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance trade, investment, and energy partnerships. Prime Minister Sharif thanked Qatar for its consistent support to Pakistan and appreciated Doha's constructive role in regional stability. The Qatari Emir reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to deepening ties with Pakistan and expressed support for Pakistan's mediation efforts in the US-Iran crisis.
The visit comes at a critical time as Pakistan continues its active diplomatic engagement following the first round of US-Iran talks in Islamabad. Prime Minister Sharif is expected to seek Qatar's backing for a possible second round of negotiations and broader de-escalation in the Gulf region, including safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
